"When I first started (in the 1980s), most of ‘em were speaking Dutch," recalled Scharf, the club president. "A lot of the Dutch people have gotten older Carrera Sunglasses, so we’re trying to get new blood."
With the shift, membership has declined. The club at one time had almost 70 members. Now, there are less than 40 men -- and one woman -- with ages ranging as high as 95.
"We have an old clientele now," said Schouten, who owns the building the club moved into in 2002 Oakley Sunglasses. "We need young people. How do you get 'em? Pool."
The club recently put a different spin on its hall by adding pool tables. The hope is to attract pool-playing members and introduce them to carom billiards Chanel Sunglasses. The club also runs dart leagues and table-top sjoelen, or shuffleboard, tournaments.
